Jersey Mike’s Subs Lines Up Next CEO
The individual has held leadership roles with Salad and Go, Wingstop, Pizza Inn, Pizza Hut, Steak and Ale, and Boston Market.

Effective April 28, Charlie Morrison takes over as the CEO of Jersey Mike’s Subs.
Morrison succeeds Peter Cancro, who is stepping down 50 years after acquiring the company’s first location in 1975. Cancro will remain chairman of the Jersey Mike’s Board of Directors and a significant minority shareholder, and Nigel Travis has been named lead director. Morrison also will serve on the Board of Directors.
As CEO, Morrison will continue to accelerate the expansion of Jersey Mike’s in the U.S. and international markets, as well as work on the brand’s technology and digital transformation.
Since 2022, Morrison was the CEO of Salad and Go, where he also was a board member. According to the press release, Morrison helped drive an increase in the drive-thru salad brand’s store count; as of this month, it had 140 stores.

Besides Krispy Kreme, new Salad and Go CEO Mike Tattersfeld previously was CEO of Caribou Coffee Co. and Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, plus president at Yum Brands.
Salad and Go, in turn, announced Mike Tattersfeld (pictured at right), the former president and CEO of Krispy Kreme, as its new CEO on April 22.
Before Salad and Go, from 2012 to 2022, Morrison served as chairman and CEO of Wingstop, where he led the strategic direction of the company and its global operations. Morrison grew the chain’s business from fewer than 500 stores to over 2,000 locations in more than 10 countries, while more than doubling average unit volumes and more.
“Having led Wingstop through a monumental period of growth and a successful IPO, (Morrison) knows what it takes to lead a first-of-its-kind, category-defining brand, and I am confident he will bring that same energy and vision to Jersey Mike’s,” says Cancro.
