ABC Announces Supplier of the Year, Among Other Honors

American Metalcraft, G.E.T. Enterprises, The Vollrath Co., Libbey, Cal-Mil, Waring, and John Boos & Co. all earned mentions.

Ahead of the holidays, Allied Buying Corp. offered a cornucopia of honors at its fall conference in Rosemont, Ill.

For the group’s annual Supplier of the Year awards, suppliers were ranked by ABC and its dealers in the areas of sales growth, market penetration and profitability, as well as the quality of their people (sales managers, manufacturer reps, customer service), products and service levels.

Those honored this year are as follows:

  • American Metalcraft earned the “Tom Wilhelm Distinguished Supplier of the Year” Award, given to the top overall supplier. American Metalcraft also earned the award for Outstanding Sales Team of the Year.
  • Jim Monnat (pictured below), of G.E.T. Enterprises, received the “Supplier Sales Executive of the Year” award. The selection was based on excellence in the areas of professionalism, knowledge of product line, problem solving ability, and timely response to customers. Dave Allard, of Cambro Mfg., was the runner-up for the honor.

  • The Vollrath Co. was the winner of the supplier of the year honor in the smallwares category, with Cambro Mfg. serving as the runner-up.
  • Libbey earned the supplier of the year honor in the tabletop category, with G.E.T. Enterprises serving as the runner-up.
  • Cal-Mil earned the supplier of the year honor in the table service/buffet category, with Tablecraft serving as the runner-up.
  • Waring earned the supplier of the year honor in the light equipment and furnishings category, with Cactus Mat serving as the runner-up.
  • John Boos & Co. earned the supplier of the year honor in the heavy equipment category, with Continental Refrigerator serving as the runner-up.
