Meiko, Winterhalter Honored At Equip’Innov

Meiko Maschinenbau GmbH and Winterhalter Gastronom were among the European suppliers honored in last November’s Equip’Innov awards program. Sponsored by the Equip’Hotel exhibition, held biennially in Paris, the awards named nine winners in the tabletop, coffee equipment and heavy equipment categories for innovation and energy-saving upgrades.

Meiko’s M-iQ conveyor dishwasher, introduced in 2010 at the Hotelympia show, features energy- and water-saving technologies and a modular design that allows sections to be more easily assembled in awkward kitchen spaces.

And Winterhalter’s Gamme UC Lave Vaisselle line of undercounter warewashers garnered attention for such features as its elliptical wash arm with integrated washing and rinsing nozzles.

Other honorees included:

  • Peugeot for Symphonie du Vin, an inhaler glass that allows guests to compare aromas of different wines.
  • Gourmet Display for Concept Froid, a cold display that uses eutectic plates wrapped in porcelain or melamine to keep product cold for one to two hours.
  • WMF France for Twistfire, a table lamp that creates flames in a twisted formation.
  • Tournus Equipement for the OreO2 reach-in display case, honored for its energy-saving and eco-friendly design.
  • Electro Calorique for Chariot Auto-Désinfectant, a tray-service trolley that attaches to a steam generator for a complete steam cleaning in less than a minute.
  • Caff’Equipements for Franke’s Flavour Station, an upgraded brewing machine that features automatic syrup dosing. (Caff’Equipements distributes for Franke in France.)
  • Caff’Equipements for Franke’s Foam Master, a brewing system that allows programming for different consistencies of foam depending on the beverage.
