R.W. SMITH’S GOLF OUTING YIELDS $100K FOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

The scorecard yielded a winning round for college students at R.W. Smith & Co.’s tenth annual Scholarship Golf Classic June 14 at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine, Calif.

The event—peopled by a full roster of players and sponsors—enabled the Costa Mesa, Calif., dealership to award scholarships in the culinary arts and design fields to five colleges and universities in its home state.

The event’s sponsors included American Metalcraft; Cambro Mfg. Co.; Dynamic Equipment Solutions; Fredco; G.E.T Enterprises; KLH Marketing; Libbey Foodservice; Lund-Iorio; Manitowoc Ice Machines; Mr. Stox; Pro Reps West; RDT, McCarthy; Refrigeration Design Technologies; Steelite Int’l.; Summit House Restaurant; Tablecraft; The Fischer Group; Vulcan; Western Pacific Distributors; and Wet Seal/Arden B.

Scholarships were underwritten for students at Cal Poly Pomona Collins College of Hospitality Management; University of San Francisco School of Business Administration/Hospitality Management; San Diego State University School of Hospitality and Tourism Management; California School of Culinary Arts—Pasadena; and Orange Coast Community College-Cost Mesa.
