ABC Honors This Year’s Top Suppliers

Allied Buying Corp. recognized extraordinary contributions to its membership with its annual Supplier of the Year awards during its Fall Conference in Rosemont, Ill. The suppliers were ranked by ABC and its dealers in the areas of sales growth, market penetration and profitability as well as the quality of their sales managers, reps, and customer service agents, products, and service levels.

The “Tom Wilhelm Distinguished Supplier of the Year” Award, given to ABC’s top overall supplier, went to The Vollrath Co.

Suppliers of the Year were:

• Smallwares: Cambro Mfg. (Runner Up: San Jamar)

• Tabletop: Libbey Foodservice (Runner Up: Churchill)

• Table Service/Buffet: American Metalcraft (Runner Up: Service Ideas)

• Light Equipment & Furnishings: Nemco Food Equipment (Runner Up: T&S Brass)

• Heavy Equipment: Intermetro Industries (Runner Up: Continental Refrigeration)

For the sixth time, and for the fourth consecutive year, Karen Pierce of Libbey Foodservice was selected as ABC Supplier Sales Executive of the Year. The award is based on excellence in the areas of professionalism, knowledge of product line, problem solving ability, and timely response to customers. The runner-up to Pierce as ABC Sales Executive of Year was Josh Callahan of Cal-Mil Products. This was the first year the runner-up was honored.
