CiCi’s Pizza Takes A Slice Of New York Market

A boffo opening at its first New York store is spurring Texas-based CiCi’s Pizza to continue expanding into new franchise markets. The chain, which has more than 600 stores in 35 states, debuted its first restaurants in Wisconsin and New York; the latter opening was the best in the company’s history, and sales have remained well above per-unit average in the past month. The all-you-can-eat pizza buffet chain has announced it will continue to build operations in new and undersaturated markets.

The 25-year-old Plano, Texas, chain has targeted the East Coast, California, Nevada, Arizona, and Florida to spur growth. In July, CiCi’s signed deals for eight new restaurant openings in Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The chain will open seven new stores by the end of September; it is shooting for 60 new units per year during the next five years.
