Hogatec 2010 Debuts In September

Those accustomed to walking the aisles of the biggest restaurant show in the U.S. will get a taste of foodservice from a European perspective at hogatec, the international trade fair for hotels, gastronomy and catering. The 19th edition of the biennial show is Sept. 12-15 at the Dusseldorf Exhibition Centre, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. As in years past, the show provides a one-stop platform for equipment technology and design.

Hogatec 2008 included 500 exhibitors from 19 countries and 40,000 visitors. This year, show-floor theme areas focusing on state-of-the-art technology or exceptional concepts include the IdeasKitchen. The show’s well-known Cook & Chill area has been redesigned as Catering Systems to provide a look into the entire spectrum of food production, regeneration and distribution systems such as thermal contact, hot air and induction. A school foodservice area will premiere; it’s a timely topic in Germany, which has expanded all-day schools.

Visitors attending hogatec will have free admission to three international food-fair shows running concurrently: InterMopro, InterCool and InterMeat. Hogatec is organized by Messe Dusseldorf GmbH.
