Chick-fil-A Continues Sales Growth Momentum

Opening its doors only six days a week hasn’t depressed sales at Chick-fil-A. The Atlanta-based chain boasts a record 11%-plus increase in its 2010 overall sales performance and a same-store sales increase of nearly 6%. The concept entered the Chicago market this year with three stores, adding to its total of 80 new-unit openings in ’10. That lineup included 66 stand-alones and two mall/in-line locations.

This year, Chick-fil-A plans to add 90 new stores, including 71 stand-alone locations, four mall/in-line restaurants and 15 licensed outlets. While expanding further into the Chicago metro area this spring, it will also head west into San Francisco and Boise, Idaho, in the fall.

More than 200 existing locations will undergo renovations, up from 164 in `10.
